Songwriter, label owner, board member at the Songwriters association of Canada
Martine Groulx has been immersed in music for the past 20 years. As a manager, label, studio owner, and agent, she has had first-hand experience with virtually every aspect of the music industry. In the beginning of her career, she focused on DIY for Montreal artists through SOPREF, a non-profit organization that supported independent musicians and later became the general manager at C4, a label that worked with francophone artists such as Gatineau and Fred Fortin.
She is now president of record label Lazy At Work where she works with Galaxie, Les Dales Hawerchuk, Navet Confit and Fuudge. Martine continues to take the livelihood of independent artists to heart. It’s a community in which she also plays a direct role – as frontwoman of her own project, Camaromance. Martine is also a board member at the Songwriters association of Canada.
