Upcoming S.A.C. educational seminar explains “Who Gets What”

Our colleagues at the Songwriters Association of Canada are holding a seminar on music creator remuneration on the 18 September. Enrollment is free to S.A.C. members but the session is also open to non-members for a small ticket fee.

The event description is as follows:

In the ever-evolving world of music, understanding who gets paid and how can be a complex puzzle. Between songwriting, publishing, neighboring rights, record royalties, and the points attributed to producers and mixers, the landscape of music royalties is often convoluted and confusing. Join us for an insightful webinar where industry expert and music attorney Lisa Whynot breaks explains the intricacies of these various revenue streams.

Whether you’re a songwriter, artist, producer, or manager, this session will empower you with the knowledge you need to navigate your rights and ensure you get your fair share. Don’t miss this opportunity to demystify the royalties process and answer the burning question: Who gets what?”

There will be a Q&A following the session and we expect this to be of interest for creators all over the world.

Members and non-members can sign up here.
